Austin Rohling County Treasurer and Auditor for Itasca County, issued a press release last week regarding the passing of Itasca County Commissioner District 4 Burl Ives. Itasca County is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our family members, County Commissioner Burl Ives. He was a dedicated Board member committed to the betterment of his constituents and Itasca County. He served with dignity and integrity during his tenure as Commissioner of District 4 and he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this extremely difficult time. Itasca County will follow all applicable statutes regarding a Vacancy in the Office of County Commissioner. As Commissioner Ives was on the ballot for the November 5th election, his name will remain on the ballot. Itasca County Auditor’s office is working closely with the State of MN and all local offices to ensure all statues and procedures are followed throughout the election on November 5th.
